Happy day, Reader Dearest!

It’s a crazy time here at Closet Play Image. Style School/School of Style launches on August 1st and there are so many moving parts to track! I’m not sure whether I am coming or going.

What I am sure of, however, is that all the craziness is worth it.

I have to shout-out the women with whom I have the privilege of working. They are always so lovely and supportive of each other!

In my pre-entrepreneurial life I was a classroom teacher for grades K-8. Yup, all of them in one year! Classroom teaching taught me myriad things, including how important it is for each person to learn in his or her own way. Some people learn by doing. Others by reading or watching others and then applying it to themselves. That’s why I’m so excited about Style School. Each enrollee has one-on-one sessions with me AND the goodness of the group; the combination provides everyone the opportunity to learn in multiple M/O’s.

Since starting Closet Play Image, I have also learned that many women are perfectionists in at least one area of our lives. (Know one?) Which makes the biggest lesson I have to teach one of the most challenging to learn.

We spend so much of our lives trying to get it right. Following the rules. Ticking the boxes. Buying what’s on the list. Getting it right… Whatever IT is. But stylish doesn’t work that way.

Stylish is less about rules and more about you. Getting YOU right. What looks fabulous on the Duchess of Cambridge would look foolish on me. Because I’m not her. What works on your bestie isn’t for you. Your style is probably hanging in plain sight… In your closet!
