Do I make the Gettin’ Hygge with It… joke?
No, I’ll skip it.

Happy day, reader dearest!
Welcome to 2021! Are things all better yet?
At least it feels like a fresh start and there is some some hope on the horizon! I pray it feels that way for you, too!
Last winter (As in 2019), I read The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking and enjoyed it a great deal. I was needing more cozy in my world. I live in a climate not particularly conducive to cozy, so imagine my surprise to read that hygge/cozy isn’t just a winter thing for Danes, it’s an all year adventure!
Note: The link is here for your convenience. I do not receive any remuneration. (There’s a word I don’t get to use often. Fun!)
So what is Hygge? Meik explains…
Hygge has been called everything from “the art of creating intimacy,” “coziness of the soul,” and “the absence of annoyance,” to “taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things,” “cozy togetherness,” and my personal favorite “cocoa by candlelight.”
Hygge is about an atmosphere and an experience, rather than about things. It is about being with the people we love. A feeling of home. A feeling that we are safe, that we are shielded from the world and allow ourselves to let our guard down.
Doesn’t that sound like what we all need more of right now?
Hygge Style

So what is Hygge Style? Search Pinterest and you will find OODLES of loungewear, wooly socks and coffee cup looks. (Totally 2020!) But what if you need Hygge AND to be out and about? That’s where today’s post is headed. I popped over to my Winter 2020 Style Inspo Board and grabbed a couple of images to get me started…
Take 1

Hygge at home feels like Cozy Socks, Cardigans and Scarves, Candles, Throws, Popcorn, Cinnamon and Hot Chocolate. This first out board plays with cinnamon, cocoa and whipped cream , plus the greys of a rainy day that make you want to snuggle up with a good book and a cup of something warm…
Take 2

Get ready for more sweaters and scarves! This Hygge Out and About board plays with loose Relaxed Fits and lots of Texture: Chunky Knits, Suede, Crisp Blues and White with pops of RED for warmth. This feels like a walk on a snowy day!
Take 3

This all neutral board relies heavily on texture: Corduroy, Cable Knits, Suede, Pebbled Leather, Fleece, Nubbly Weaves. The different Earth toned neutrals and textures keep it interesting without overwhelm. What does this one feel like to you?
So How About YOU?
Third time’s a charm? Do any of these looks appeal to you? Which? Which colorway do you prefer? Could you see yourself in any of these looks? Is it cozy season where you live? Do tell! I love to hear from you…
Stylishly yours,

I was dreaming of the sweater when I made my comment. In real life I would have chosen the blouse and would wear it with a flowy paisly skirt and riding boots I own,

The “formal” form of Hygge! Sounds lovely, Natalie!

Take One for me, Liz. I am attracted to the cinnamon colour with grey. I have been for a while.

Love it, Lise! Thanks for sharing!

I would actually wear Take 1 but with a long sweater skirt with a plain design or for very relaxed with a dark blue denim skirt. We’ve only had a small amount of sweater weather this year here in Tucson AZ.

We don’t get a lot of sweater weather here in Georgia either, Natalie! I guess you’d opt for the top rather than the turtleneck, then…
