Monday’s “Style” Post

Hi. I’m Curtis. You may know me as Mr. CP. Surprise! This post is not going to be at all what you expected. You may have come to expect style tips on almost any topic from Liz by now, but you would not anticipate something written by her husband. Well, Mother’s day is coming up on Sunday. So, I’m giving Liz some time off. But, the blog must go on, if you know what I mean. Don’t worry, this should not take long. I won’t even try to dispense style advice. That would just be silly.

What I can do, is brag a little about my beautiful wife and wonderful mother of our children. We have been married for nearly 29 years, now. I’m retired military, and she managed to keep our lives in order no matter where we lived and where the Navy sent me. There must be a special place in heaven for those loved ones who watch us flying or floating away for who knows how long and are still there when we come back. She has always there for me and our children. There through the stitches, there for graduations, there for last minute assignments, there for the exploding toilets, there though it all with grace and awe, discipline when it was needed, but love above all.

Liz continually amazed me with how loving and fun she was as a mother (our boys may have other memories, but this is my story). She is still delights in our children and is still excited to share the world with them. Because of her hard work and constant love, they are all incredible young men. They are realizing how lucky they are to have her in their lives, as I do.

So, this was not long or terribly well written. It is heartfelt, though. We are blessed to get to share this journey of our lives with someone as inspiring and loving as Lisbeth.

Thank you for your time. For those of you who are mothers, too, I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day. For those who aren’t, I hope your day was fantastic, too!

You’ll have Liz back in the next post. Bye!

I knew I liked your wife and now, I know I like you, too!! Retired military wife here. I appreciate the kind things you said about Liz holding down the fort while you were out at sea. You are blessed to have weathered the storms that military life, moves, separations can bring to a relationship. It is a hard life, lonely at times. Bravo to both of you for 29 years together.

Hi Curtis, it’s so lovely of you to write about Liz like this. She certainly gives her readers a lot of care and attention. I’m sure your boys remember fond moments from their childhood, although they probably laugh about the not so great times when Mom got mad! I know my brothers and sister do. Thank you, on Liz’s behalf, for giving Liz the day off and for singing her praises. She surely does deserve it.

Thank you, Carol, for your kind words. I’ll let him know! He didn’t tell me what he was writing, and I didn’t see it until it published. He made me cry. But they were good tears. We’ve lived a charmed life and I am immensely grateful for the experiences we’ve shared.
