Spring Bucket List

Happy day, reader dear!

While catching up on back posts on Juhli’s A Boomer Girl’s Guide, I saw she had a Spring Bucket List link-up! I’m so psyched! I love a list. I need a list. To-do Lists, Action Items Lists, Call-to-Action Lists, Packing Lists, Grocery Lists, Wardrobe Wish Lists… Lists are part of my personality type, and yes, I know that my “list thing” has to do with control. I was raised with lists; they are second nature to me. Even if I don’t have one on paper, I probably have one in my head… I like to get them out of my head and onto paper; that way I can spend my energy on things that matter, and not on trying not to forget what’s on the list!

One (1)

Schedule “Dates” with my sons and grandsons for the next months. I’ve been wanting to take each of them out for some mom and son time, and keep forgetting to get to it. Maybe a meal, or a walk at the canal. Someone will probably want to go shooting. I want to do something special with my daughters-in-law, too; I had better get scheduling!

Two (2)

Plan and make a farewell trip to the Mermaid House with our grandsons. Sigh. The owner is retiring, and our happy place will be his permanent residence. We are very happy for him, and at the same time sad for us and for our family. We have made lovely memories over the years at the Mermaid House (dubbed so by our oldest grandson, Thomas) and will miss it terribly. Addendum to Item 2: Start hunt for a new place to stay in FB.

Three (3)

Plan a business birthday party! Closet Play Image will be two in June, and it’s time to do something special to celebrate. Maybe drinks and nibbles? I want to invite my clients, friends and family, and all those who have supported me on my journey.

Four (4)

Get consistent with my NHS Couch to 5K. I made it all the way to the end last summer/fall with the training, and loved how I felt. I have always hated running, and on this regime I actually woke up looking forward to my run days… Not sure how that happened, but it was awesome! Unfortunately, I fell off over the winter. I don’t like the treadmill, and running in the pitch black mornings was not ideal. I had a scare that frightened me inside, and I don’t like that feeling. I want that wake-up-looking-forward-to-a-run feeling again! Baby steps.

Five (5)

Buy myself flowers. Every. Week. It’s the simple things. For the same price as a cup of foofy coffee, I can have a thing of beauty that will make me smile every time I see it. When we lived in England, I had fresh flowers in the house year round. There, flowers were quite inexpensive and lasted for at least a week, sometimes two. The shorter shipping distance made all the difference! I know the flowers I buy here won’t have the same staying power, but beauty is no less so for its fleeting nature.

Do you have a bucket list? What might you put on your Spring Bucket List? I can always use some more ideas for the next three seasons! Let me know in the comments below; I do so love to hear from you!

Stylishly yours,

Hello, new friend! I have added your blog to my Bloglovin’ feed and am thrilled that you found and joined our bucket list link-up. Welcome! If you are interested in receiving email reminders about our bucket list posts, please shoot me an email and I will add your name to our email group. Juhli is one of the members, too. My email is mommyhon333@hotmail.com.

Now, to your list. First of all, we have a number of things in common. I have participated in the capsule wardrobe challenges led by Alison Lumbatis. Anxious to get to know more about your wardrobe inspiration. I run 5Ks and have a good training program that has taken me from running a mile to running over 3 comfortably. Need to get back at it because I have a 5K coming up soon. Love the idea of dates with your children and theirs. Wish mine were close enough to date! Yes to flowers, fresh flowers. It is indeed the little things.

Thank you for joining us. Hope you will share an update with us on 04.21.

Truly customized!

I was regretting my Couch to 5K aspirations yesterday; but do love the NHS Couch to 5K program. The increments are great for even the most inexperienced runner, or those who hate running. That was my M.O. until I got into the swing of it last summer, and actually found myself looking forward to my morning runs! My husband asked what I had done with his wife! Yes, we are so blessed that our children and theirs live here in town. We usually see them weekly, and it’s a treat to watch them grow. We spent more than 20 years as a military family gallivanting about the globe, so I think they just decided “No more.” Curtis and I would be happy to move on, but it’s not our season… Looking forward to the update!

Thanks for visiting, Juhli! I’m so glad you posted… I really needed to take the time before all those good ideas from the New Year fell by the wayside! I’ve already got a date with one of my sons, and another is letting me know his availability for the following month. I’m psyched!
