Summer Styled for Fall
Volume 2: Blue Trousers & White Top

Happy day, reader dear!
And happy Friday! Even if it’s not Friday when you read this… Each week brings us just a little closer to my favorite season! Fall means back to school, the smell of cinnamon baking, layers, boots, Halloween/our wedding anniversary (Yes, they are the same day! There was a gorilla bartender at our wedding night dinner. Ask me about the scream some day…), cool nights, sunny days. Sigh.
But what’s a girl to do when she’s feeling fall and fall weather is still months away? That’s what this post is all about! Each Friday in September I’m restyling a summer to give it a fall vibe. (Here’s last week if you missed it!)
As I remind you every few weeks, please feel free to Pin and share on social media images you love and posts you find helpful. (Or that you think a friend might like!) Your kind introduction is the best way for me to make new friends… I’m not getting out much this year. How about you?
Let’s get REstyling! Back in July, I wore this:

Thoughts
I’m struggling with this one, peeps. Honestly. The shoes are already fall-ish. The blouse doesn’t lend itself to graceful accessorizing; that ruffled collar isn’t necklace OR scarf friendly. Which is, as you already know, my go-to for a new look! What to do? I know I want to play with colors that “feel” more autumnal and have some warmth… Just not so much that I can’t wear them! Let’s see where this goes.
Fall Restyle

I toyed with changing the top for a blouse with sleeves, and that would be totally workable! Since I really wanted to stay true to the main pieces, I stuck with the shell, but to give it some interest, I dug out my tortoiseshell floral brooch. I love a brooch! I decided that even if a scarf around the neck wouldn’t work, there’s always the option of a headscarf. Especially with haircuts being fewer and farther between this year! Wine shoes, gold jewelry and the little gold bag give this look a fall vibe without any heavy layers or heat exhaustion. I could even substitute the sandals I wore last week if my toes needed to breathe…
So how about you? Are you restyling for a different seasonal feel? Which look to you prefer? The summer version? Or the fall take? Do let me know in the comments below! And if there’s a summer look on Instagram that you’d like to see me style for fall, tag me on it! I’d love to see what you’re interested in…
Stylishly yours,

I follow a blogger named Salazar at 14 Shades of Grey who has the niftiest brooches. Her pieces make such a statement with every outfit she wears. Check her out.
Those wine shoes are intoxicating…teehee! Love the rich color. And the addition of the mustard bag speaks fall into this outfit. Would a jacket, a boucle or tweed work to give this a little more mid-autumn feel?

Thank you for popping by, Leslie! AND for the pun! (I love puns… The worse, the better!) YES! A boucle or tweed jacket would be amazing with this! I don’t have one, and it was 95 degrees that day, so sleeveless was the only option. A wine tweed would be so cool! Or a moto jacket if you want casual!
